RAMALLAH, January 19, 2025 — President Mahmoud Abbas received the Gaza Relief, Early Recovery and Emergency Response Plan, which was prepared by the Palestinian government to address the emergency in the Gaza Strip.

The handover took place on Sunday during a meeting with Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Mohammad Mustafa, at the presidential headquarters in Ramallah.

Mustafa stated that the plan, presented to the President, represents the first phase of the government’s response, focusing on emergency measures for Gaza during the first six months after the cessation of Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people and their land.

He added that the government developed the plan in coordination with relevant international and UN entities to secure the maximum international support for its implementation. This effort comes in light of the extensive destruction caused by the Israeli aggression and the systematic devastation inflicted by the occupation forces in Gaza.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the plan prioritizes strengthened coordination with international relief organizations to expedite the delivery of humanitarian aid and ensure adequate support for affected Palestinians.

It also includes efforts to remove rubble from main roads and vital institutions, such as hospitals, and to restore essential services, including water, electricity, telecommunications, and sanitation in residential areas. Additionally, the plan aims to provide temporary shelter for families whose homes were destroyed and to ensure continuity of children’s education.
