President Abbas discusses latest developments in Palestinian territories with Italian Deputy Prime Minister

RAMALLAH, March 13, 2023 – President Mahmoud Abbas met this evening with Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, at the presidential headquarters in Ramallah, where they discussed the latest developments in the Palestinian territories.
President Abbas briefed Minister Tajani and the accompanying delegation on recent developments, emphasizing the importance of adhering to international legitimacy and signed agreements, and of halting all unilateral Israeli measures.
The President affirmed the depth of Palestinian-Italian relations, expressing appreciation for Italy’s consistent positions in support of achieving peace based on the two-state solution and in accordance with international law.
He also praised Italy’s continued assistance to the State of Palestine, particularly its support for building national institutions and advancing development programs.
For his part, Minister Tajani reaffirmed his country’s commitment to supporting efforts aimed at achieving peace based on the two-state solution and international law, and reiterated Italy’s readiness to continue its assistance to the Palestinian people.
