President Abbas meets Japanese Foreign Ministry Vice-Minister in Ramallah

RAMALLAH, February 19, 2023 – President Mahmoud Abbas met this evening with Japanese Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, Takaji Kei, and his accompanying delegation at the presidential headquarters in the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah.
The President affirmed the depth of bilateral relations between the State of Palestine and Japan, emphasizing Palestine’s keenness to further strengthen and develop these ties. He expressed his gratitude to Japan for its political and economic positions in support of the Palestinian people and their legitimate rights.
For his part, Vice-Minister Kei reaffirmed Japan’s longstanding support for the Palestinian people and its commitment to achieving peace based on the two-state solution and international legitimacy. He also stressed Japan’s continued provision of economic assistance aimed at strengthening the Palestinian national institutions and capabilities.
