RAMALLAH, December 31, 2022 – President Mahmoud Abbas this evening lit the torch at the presidential headquarters in Ramallah to mark the 58th anniversary of the launch of the Fatah movement and the start of the contemporary Palestinian revolution.

The annual ceremony was attended by members of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), the Fatah Central Committee, and the Revolutionary Council, along with representatives of various political factions and national institutions.

The first armed operation against Israel by the Fatah movement was carried out on January 1, 1965, marking the beginning of the Palestinian revolution and the armed struggle aimed at liberating Palestine and establishing an independent Palestinian state in the occupied territories.
