RAMALLAH, December 17, 2022 – President Mahmoud Abbas today held a phone call with King Abdullah II of Jordan, during which he expressed his best wishes for security and prosperity to the brotherly Kingdom and its people.

During the call, President Abbas affirmed that “the State of Palestine and its people are keen on the security and stability of Jordan,” emphasizing that “the security and prosperity of Jordan are part of the security and prosperity of Palestine.”

President Abbas commended King Abdullah II’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and expressed appreciation for the Hashemite custodianship over the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.

The President concluded by wishing continued security, stability, and progress for Jordan under the leadership of King Abdullah II.
