RAMALLAH, December 4, 2022 – President Mahmoud Abbas today expressed confidence that truth, justice, and peace will ultimately prevail, affirming that the Palestinian people will never surrender and will continue to stand firm in the face of the Israeli occupation.

The President’s remarks came in a televised address broadcast by Palestine TV during a ceremony honoring the winners of the National Certificate of Honor for Academic Diplomacy and Advocacy for Palestinian Rights, organized by the International Academic Campaign Against Occupation and Apartheid.

“Truth, justice, and peace will prevail in the end. We will not surrender; we will remain steadfast in resisting the occupation,” President Abbas declared.

He emphasized that Palestine will expand the scope of peaceful popular resistance and intensify international efforts to compel Israel to end its occupation, cease its aggression, and be held accountable for its crimes and violations of international law.

The President described the International Academic Campaign Against Occupation and Apartheid as a valuable initiative for justice, human values, and international law, noting that it reaffirms the legitimate right of the Palestinian people to resist colonial occupation, which continues to perpetrate systematic aggression against Palestinian land and people through its army and settlers.

Addressing the campaign’s participants, President Abbas said: “Your efforts, in partnership with prominent Palestinian institutions, represent a practical affirmation of the importance of soft power in defending rights, justice, and peace, and in supporting the Palestinian national project committed to achieving a just and comprehensive peace.”
