President Abbas offers condolences to King Charles III on the passing of Queen Elizabeth II

RAMALLAH, Thursday, September 8, 2022 – President Mahmoud Abbas today offered his condolences to King Charles III of the United Kingdom on the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.
In a cable of condolence to King Charles III, President Abbas said: "We received with great sorrow the news of the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Her life was devoted to serving her country and people. For decades, she faithfully fulfilled her royal duties, leaving behind a noble legacy that will remain engraved in the hearts and minds of generations to come."
He added:"As we share with Your Majesty the profound sadness over Her Majesty’s passing, we extend to you, the Royal Family, the government, and the friendly people of the United Kingdom our deepest and most heartfelt condolences."
President Abbas also prayed that "Her Majesty be granted eternal peace and serenity. In this moment of national grief, we pray that God grants Your Majesty and the people of the United Kingdom patience and solace."
Additionally, the President sent a cable of condolence to the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Liz Truss, expressing sympathy to her, the government, and the British people on the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.
