CAIRO, Tuesday, September 6, 2022 – President Mahmoud Abbas met today with his Egyptian counterpart, Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi, at the presidential palace in Cairo.

During the meeting, President Abbas briefed President al-Sisi on the latest developments in the Palestinian arena and the broader region, with particular focus on ongoing Israeli violations and efforts to revive the long-stalled peace process.

The two leaders exchanged views on a range of regional issues and discussed ways to further strengthen bilateral relations across various sectors.

The meeting came within the framework of continued coordination between the two sides to address upcoming challenges and support efforts aimed at realizing the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, including their right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent and fully sovereign state on the territories occupied since June 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
