RAMALLAH, Monday, September 5, 2022 – President Mahmoud Abbas arrived today in Egypt on an official visit, during which he is scheduled to meet with his Egyptian counterpart, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
Upon his arrival at Cairo International Airport, President Abbas was received at the presidential hall by Egypt’s Minister of Justice, Omar Marwan, along with Palestine's Ambassador to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the Arab League, Diab al-Louh, as well as advisors from the Palestinian Embassy and the Palestinian delegation to the League of Arab States.
Ambassador al-Louh stated that the visit reflects the ongoing and permanent coordination and consultation between President Abbas and President El-Sisi on various Arab, regional, and international issues, particularly given the sensitive circumstances currently facing the region.
He added that the summit between the two leaders, scheduled for tomorrow, comes within the framework of joint coordination to confront the challenges facing the Palestinian people in their pursuit of their inalienable rights, including the right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent and fully sovereign Palestinian state on all the lands occupied in 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
