BERLIN, Tuesday, August 16, 2022 – President Mahmoud Abbas is scheduled to meet later today with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Berlin, according to Majdi al-Khalidi, Advisor to the President on Diplomatic Affairs.

Khalidi told Voice of Palestine radio that President Abbas arrived in the German capital last night on an official visit.

He added that the talks will focus on the latest political developments, the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people, and ways to provide international protection for them. The meeting will also address the recognition of the State of Palestine and its efforts to obtain full membership at the United Nations.
