ALGIERS, Wednesday, June 29, 2022 – President Mahmoud Abbas is set to attend the celebrations marking the 60th anniversary of Algeria’s independence, according to Palestine’s Ambassador to Algeria, Fayez Abu Eita.

Ambassador Abu Eita stated that President Abbas will participate in the festivities at the invitation of Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, reflecting the depth of historical Palestinian-Algerian relations and both leaderships’ commitment to strengthening them.

During his visit, President Abbas is scheduled to hold talks with President Tebboune on ways to enhance bilateral relations, the latest developments concerning the upcoming Arab League Summit—set to be held in November in Algeria—and the importance of coordinating positions ahead of the event.
