RAMALLAH, Tuesday, April 12, 2022 – President Mahmoud Abbas today sent a congratulatory cable to Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif on his election as the new Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

President Abbas conveyed his warm congratulations to Sharif, wishing him success in his duties and in achieving the aspirations of the Pakistani people.

He commended the historical relations between Palestine and Pakistan, built on principles of brotherhood, solidarity, and mutual respect, expressing his eagerness to continue working together to strengthen these ties in the interests of both nations.

President Abbas also expressed his deep appreciation for Pakistan’s steadfast positions in support of the Palestinian people and their just cause.
