RAMALLAH, Tuesday, March 29, 2022 – President Mahmoud Abbas this evening condemned the killing of Israeli civilians and stressed that the killing of either Palestinian or Israeli civilians will only further exacerbate tensions, particularly as the holy month of Ramadan and the Christian and Jewish holidays approach.

President Abbas warned against any attempts by Israeli settlers or other parties to exploit this incident to carry out retaliatory attacks against the Palestinian people.

He emphasized that the ongoing cycle of violence reaffirms that a permanent, comprehensive, and just peace is the only viable path to ensuring security and stability for both the Palestinian and Israeli peoples, as well as for the wider region.
