Date : 28/11/2021
RAMALLAH, Sunday, November 28, 2021 – President Mahmoud Abbas today extended the state of emergency in Palestine for an additional 30 days to continue combating the COVID-19 pandemic.
The state of emergency was first declared in March 2020 following the detection of the initial coronavirus cases in the Palestinian territories, and has since been extended or reissued every 30 days.
Under the Palestinian Basic Law, the state of emergency can be extended once; any further extension requires issuing a new declaration.
The state of emergency authorizes the government to take any measures it deems necessary to confront the pandemic.
