RAMALLAH, Saturday, November 13, 2021 – President Mahmoud Abbas today received a congratulatory letter from the President of the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping, on the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of Palestine’s Declaration of Independence.

In his letter, President Xi expressed his interest in enhancing Chinese-Palestinian relations and advancing joint cooperation between the two countries in all fields, for the benefit of both peoples.

He stressed China’s keenness to continue providing all possible assistance to Palestine to help it confront the COVID-19 pandemic and improve the livelihood of the Palestinian people.

President Xi reaffirmed China’s firm support for the just cause of Palestine and for the establishment of an independent and fully sovereign State of Palestine on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with international resolutions and the principle of the two-state solution.

He wished President Abbas good health and success, and the Palestinian people continued prosperity, peace, and happiness.
