RAMALLAH, Friday, November 12, 2021 – President Mahmoud Abbas this evening congratulated his Polish counterpart, Andrzej Duda, on the 103rd anniversary of Poland regaining its independence.

In his telegram to President Duda, President Abbas expressed his pride in the historical relations and bonds of mutual respect and friendship between Palestine and Poland, and his keenness to advance them to the highest level.

He noted that both the Palestinian and Polish peoples have a long history of struggle marked by immense sacrifices — a struggle in which the Polish people ultimately achieved freedom and independence, while the Palestinian people continue their efforts to reclaim their land, establish their independent state, and live in freedom and dignity under a just and comprehensive peace.

President Abbas praised Poland’s positions in support of the Palestinian people and their just cause in all international forums, and wished the president and people of Poland continued progress and prosperity.
