President Abbas commends Qatar for remarks in support of Palestinian rights

RAMALLAH, October 1, 2025 – Mahmoud Abbas, President of the State of Palestine, expressed his appreciation for the supportive statements made by the State of Qatar regarding Palestinian rights. He emphasized the importance of ending the war, halting annexation, and preventing the displacement of Palestinians.

President Abbas praised the efforts of Qatar's Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, in advocating for the Palestinian people and their just rights.

President Abbas commended the statements made by Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, in which he welcomed the efforts of U.S. President Donald Trump to stop the war in Gaza, rejected the annexation of the West Bank, affirmed that Qatar’s priority is to end the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza, halt killings, displacement, and famine. He also and stressed that Arab and Islamic countries are exerting major efforts to support the Palestinians, enable them to remain on their land, and work towards achieving a two-state solution. 

President Abbas emphasized that these statements are in line with the Palestinian position and reflect the views of all nations committed to ending the war and establishing peace in the region and worldwide.
