SHARM EL-SHEIKH, October 13, 2025 – President Mahmoud Abbas met today with several leaders and key officials on the sidelines of his participation in the Gaza Peace Summit, held in the Egyptian city of Sharm El-Sheikh.

President Abbas met with the King of Bahrain, Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa; the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev; the Chancellor of Germany, Friedrich Merz; the Prime Minister of Spain, Pedro Sánchez; the Prime Minister of Norway, Jonas Gahr Støre; the Prime Minister of Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakis; the Prime Minister of Iraq, Mohammed Shia’ al-Sudani; the Prime Minister of Canada, Mark Carney; the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif; and the Foreign Minister of Oman, Badr bin Hamad al-Busaidi.

The President expressed appreciation for the leaders’ efforts in supporting peace and their endeavors to end the war and move toward lasting peace in line with the objectives of the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Conference.

The President was accompanied by Vice President Hussein al-Sheikh and his Advisor on Diplomatic Affairs, Majdi al-Khaldi.
