PARIS, November 11, 2025 – President Mahmoud Abbas arrived in Paris on Monday evening for an official visit.

Upon his arrival, President Abbas reviewed the guard of honor, accompanied by the playing of the national anthems of Palestine and France.

He was received by France’s Minister of the Interior, Laurent Nuñez.

On Tuesday, President Abbas is scheduled to meet with his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron, at the Élysée Palace and will hold talks with the President of the French National Assembly, Yaël Braun-Pivet.

This visit is part of ongoing efforts to coordinate positions between Palestinian and French leadership.

President Abbas is accompanied by Ziad Abu Amr, a member of the PLO Executive Committee; Majdi Al-Khaldi, Presidential Advisor for Diplomatic Affairs; and Hala Abu Hasira, the Palestinian ambassador to Paris.

On Monday, France recognized the State of Palestine at the United Nations General Assembly in New York City.
