RAMALLAH, December 23, 2025 – Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas welcomed Mrs. Fadwa Barghouti, the wife of senior Fatah leader and Central Committee member Marwan Barghouti, at the presidential headquarters in Ramallah. This visit is part of ongoing efforts to support the Palestinian, Arab, and international campaign for his release.

The Palestinian Presidency emphasized that advocating for Marwan Barghouti's release has consistently been a top priority for President Abbas and the Fatah movement.

The Presidency also praised the steadfastness and determination of Marwan Barghouti, commending his courageous stances as a national leader. Furthermore, it highlighted the resilience of other imprisoned freedom fighters in their struggle for liberty and the independence of the State of Palestine.
