President Abbas holds phone call with King Abdullah II, slams attacks on Jordan

RAMALLAH, March 3, 2026 – President Mahmoud Abbas held a phone call on Tuesday with King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

During the call, Abbas strongly denounced the Iranian attacks that targeted Jordan, emphasizing Palestine’s rejection of any assault that undermines the Kingdom’s sovereignty or threatens its security and stability.

He also expressed the full solidarity of the Palestinian people with the Jordanian people and voiced support for Arab efforts aimed at protecting Arab states and safeguarding their security in the face of attacks that constitute a violation of international law.

President Abbas further stressed the importance of adopting dialogue as a means of addressing regional and international crises.

He commended Jordan's steadfast and supportive positions towards the Palestinian people, praising the strong fraternal ties between the two countries and the need for continued coordination and consultation to confront current challenges.
